FAQ'S1. Is there a real need for your services? Do people really want that much concrete and screed? The demand for concrete is booming. Regardless of a buildings
structure and material, be it steel, brick, or You will be operating in a healthy and growing industry, where demand outstrips current supply; we often have to turn down work, because we simply don’t have enough capacity! And it's not just us who are experiencing this, demand for cement, ready-mixed concrete, and concrete based materials are growing at a very healthy rate. In our projection we have assumed you will be delivering only 25m3 of concrete and screed each day. That’s on average only 5 jobs of 5m3 per day. Today our drivers regularly deliver over 30m3; quite often they deliver over 40m3 per day. The demand is clearly there. 2. How hard is it to get customers? And do I have to get them for myself? The success of our business was largely down to the success of our Yellow Pages in the early days. At that point almost 95% of our customers came for that source alone. Since then we’ve added new sales channels, with the work from builder’s merchants being a great source of revenue. Like us you will be starting your business with a Yellow Pages advert, which we believe will keep one mobile batching plant running at full capacity from the first few weeks (although to be cautious, for your financial projections we have show a much slower ramp up of sales). However, unlike us you will have the benefit of a “foot in the door” with national builder’s merchants. This will add additional avenue we never had, so you should be able to grow much faster than we did. You also won’t be making the mistakes we made in the early years; you will have the benefit of all our lessons learnt! 3. What’s the competition like? Yes there is competition; you will be operating in an established sector of the concrete industry. However, the great news is there is more demand than even the current competition can keep up with. What makes us so successful is that we have marketing strategies that beat our competition hands down, and systems and processes in place that result in a slick operation that impresses our customers, and encourages them to keep ordering from us. 4. What type of person is perfect for
this business? We are very selective about the people we take on board. Why? Because our success is directly related to your success. Therefore we can’t afford to accept just anyone. We know that the ability to earn a large income is enough to attract anyone, that’s why we do have a stringent policy on recruitment. For starters you must have the following qualities, or we won’t even consider you
And most importantly…
5. Can I really earn a large income? Yes you can. It may sound hard to believe, but this really is possible with a fleet of just two mobile batching plants! You can increase these earning even more if you are prepared to invest in additional mobile batching plants, and hire more staff – something we would encourage you to do. But don’t for one minute think that it’s a ‘walk in the park’. You still have to earn your money! You do have to put the effort in, but the rewards are surely worth it! In fact you won’t have to work more than 50 hours a week, on the mobile batching plants, to earn a significant income – assuming you are employing one additional driver. You will also need additional time to do your administration and maintenance, but some of these tasks can be outsourced. 6. What support structure do you have in place? We believe that the support structure of any Franchise organisation
is one of the most important aspects of running a successful
Franchise. You have to know that you’ll never be left alone ‘to get on with it’. Of course our training is so detailed you won’t need constant supervision, but you will need help from time to time. That’s why we have a structure in place that ensures your success… Franchisees are supported by Franchise Advisors, and critically on a day-to-day basis buy our Central Call Centre. You will also have access to our skilled and experienced fitter, via a technical support hotline. In addition to this you will have the support of the founding directors Andrew and James. 7. How do your training and systems compare to other Franchise organisations? We’ve been in this business for over 3 years. It may not seem long but we know it inside out. Our training procedures and manuals reflect the systematic approach we take with all our customers and employees. We believe we offer the best training available in our industry. With a-b-c type, step-by-step instructions, and an attention to detail that will stagger you, we know we can train you in the concrete and screed business. We don’t accept everyone as Franchisees, but those that qualify already have the basic skills – we just give them the tools of our trade! 8. How much is the Franchise fee? The Franchise fee is reviewed after every training course. At the moment it’s just £19,997 +VAT 9. What does the Franchise fee include?
10. Do I have to pay a monthly management
fee? Yes. Each month you will pay 10% of your gross turnover as a Management Service Fee (MSF). This fee covers the ongoing support you will be receiving from the Central Call Centre, plus the support from your Franchise Advisors and the EasyMix Concrete team. This entitles you to carry on using the EasyMix Concrete systems and processes, branding, trademarks and corporate identity. It also enables you to be part of the bulk buying agreement, this alone represents huge savings, and ensures that the MSF is always good value for money. 11. How long does it take to get back my Franchise fee? Unlike many other Franchise opportunities we’ve set the fee at a level where we know all of our Franchisees should have earned more than double the amount in their first year. 12. What is the typical working hours/week? 50 hours, this assumes you will be onsite for your first job at 8am, and be attending your last job between 2-4pm. You will clearly need to be at your depot before 8am, and once you return in the afternoon you will have cleaning and maintenance to perform. You will also be expected to work a ½ day on Saturday, and have other administrative tasks to perform, such as stock ordering, and accounting.
